At long last, humans are free and Xia Nie stands outside the gates of the Andrak. She’s not even sure where she will go, but she needs to take that first step to her new life. Tess wanted them to go together; Tess had been given an old model air cruiser which would be far better than walking – especially with the risk of other dragons who would kill them on sight. With each other to provide courage, they agree to leave together for Tarro.

After some time, Xia notices they should have reached Tarro. Instead, Tess decided to go further to see Yohai’s pretty lakes! With a loud bang and black smoke, the engine dies and the air carrier plummets to the trees below! After a hard crash, they escape the burning carrier and run as it explodes!

Adan, warrior and leader of his people, and Figor, his best friend, are sparring to demonstrate hand-to-hand combat techniques to the recruits. A man runs up and tells Adan that two young drakila were found dead and the incident needs his attention. The lips and fingers on their bodies were strangely blue, their flesh shriveled as if they were sucked dry of blood.

Xia angrily moves forward, not speaking to Tess as she looks for shelter. Tess tries to talk to her and grabs her arm. Xia is hateful and cruel in her grief and wants to be alone, so Tess turns back the way they had come. Snow is everywhere and Xia cannot find shelter as the storm worsens. As she reaches the mountains, she stumbles and falls, but in her weakness, she doesn’t try to get up again. She’s finished fighting. And Adan, who has not been able to shift to his dragon form since his brother’s death, suddenly feels his dragon come alive and force the shift – and he smells the scent of his mate! Can he save her? And if he can, will he be able to break through the icy wall around her heart and her absolute hatred for dragons who caused the death of her loved ones?

This was a very good book, rich in descriptive narrative. The author paints a landscape so real that you feel you are right there in it! The characters are well described, both their personalities and actions telling the reader so much about them. As the reader wonders about the fate of Adan and Xia’s situation, the suspense over what killed the dragon children is still there. It keeps the reader turning the pages to find out what’s happening and where it will lead. I definitely recommend this book!

This was a cute sci-fi romance. A sweet one.

Dragons were responsible for the deaths of Xia's family. So, when one rescues her she's determined to hate him. However, her body doesnt. She cant help herself and realizes he's different. Adan has found his mate. Her scent calls to him and he rescues her from certain death. He realizes quickly she doesnt like dragons. He wants to change her mind. They cant stop the feelings that quickly arises and they succumb. Can Xia ever accept him fully and stay with Adan or will she leave him? Adan wants to give her what she wishes even if that means letting her go.

I havent read her first book of this series. I didnt feel too lost so I do believe these can be read as standalone's. Reason I gave 4 stars is that I think the story itself can be built up a little more. There was nothing all that special that I havent read before. So, to be honest its not new and different. A good quick read nonetheless though.

Oh My Goodness I love Dragon's of Rur. Ms. Shea has written a fantastic second book which is a match with book one.

     Xia Nie is human slave who has been recently freeds. Xia lives and works as an electrician in the Andrak, Xia is twenty-four, her friend Seela Pith has mated to Nai the Konia's nephew, they freed the slaves, even with being free she wishes to die. She's alone now Jorgen is dead, her dad is dead, she wants to be dead too. Xia tried to keep herself busy, there was a lot of work, no matter how much she tried though she still was alone and didn't want to be alive. Now she was leaving her work was done, Xia left the gates of Andrak only to be talked into flying in the cruiser Betsy, only to have her crash land in nowheres vill giving us second to run before it explodes. Finially walking alone a storm comes, Xia tumbles on & on this is it , she knows it.
     Adan is a Dragon Shifter, his Dragon has been gone from him for so long, than all of the sudden he wakes, he pops out his wings, starts flying in a snow storm. His Dragon wants something, his claws grabs her out of the snow, taking  her to a cave to get her out of wet clothes plus warm. Adan's Dragon finally comes out to save his he human Asafura! A human!!!

I exepected damsel in distress but the protagonist was her own hero in her own way! Love the plot, the characters and the steamy scenes!!
Paranormal romance dragon book that was one of the best I've read so far! Loved the twists and turns, had some slow spots but always kept me wanting more till the end!
